Mahila Adhikarita Yojana (MAY)
The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment oversees the enterprise known as the National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC). The primary objective of the NSKFDC is to provide financial assistance at concessional interest rates to Safai Karamcharis/Scavengers and their dependents in order to encourage socioeconomic advancement. A scavenger is a person who is engaged in any kind of sanitation work and includes their dependents. Through Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), State Channelizing Agencies (SCAs), and Nationalized Banks, Safai Karamchari Scavenger women and their dependent daughters receive the Mahila Adhikarita Yojana (MAY) loan. The Safai Karamcharis/Scavengers receive the Mahila Adhikarita Yojana (MAY) loan primarily through State Channelizing Agencies, Regional Rural Banks, and Nationalized Banks. This MAY loan program gives loans to Safai Karamchari and Scavenger women and their dependent daughters for projects or plans with a maximum cost of Rs. 1 lakh for various income-generating activities and small and petty trades.

Sectors Eligible for Funding The NSKFDC can help with the following income-generating activities:
Financing also takes into account infrastructure development investments. The list below is not the only list of activities and projects.
Sector of Agriculture: Milk Animals, Goatees, and Poultry. e.g., Fertilizer Store
Sector of service: Auto-rickshaw (Petrol), automobile repair shop, photocopier booth, general store, music store, fabrication work, shuttering, computer, carpentry business, mobile repair, battery winding and repairing, two- and four-wheeler repairing, poly houses, solar energy devices, etc.
Sector of Industry: Broomsticks, fake jewelry, paper, jute, and cloth bags and folders, paper envelopes and file covers, airbags and purses, Hawai’i chappal, and making surgical bandages are just a few examples.
Mahila Adhikarita Yojana (MAY) Gujarat 2023
Rs.1,000 per individual to cleaners/dependent women for various businesses/occupations like mandap decoration, computer, electrical shop, animal husbandry, grocery shop, carpentry, sewing work, embroidery, beauty parlour, mobile repairing etc. under Mahila Adhikarita Yojana ,000/- loan/ credit will be given at 5% interest rate.
Eligibility and conditions for Mahila Akhirita Yojana
A person who wants to avail the benefits under Mahila Adhikarita Yojana should comply with this eligibility, only then the benefits of this scheme will be availed.
The applicant for the benefit must be a Gujarati.
The beneficiary applicant should be a sanitation worker or a dependent woman.
Age of the beneficiary applicant should be between 18 to 50 years.
Required document for Mahila Adhikarita Yojana

- Aadhaar Card of the applicant
- Ration card of the applicant
- Election Identity Card
- Example of applicant’s gross annual income.

- A copy of the first page of your bank passbook or a cancelled check (in the applicant’s name)
- proof of residence (any one of the following: an electricity bill, a license, a lease agreement, an electoral card, or a ration card)
- B.P.L. certificate (if BPL) an instance of husband’s death (if widowed)
