Also fixed the type approval requirement for retrofitting

At present, such revisions through retro-fitment are allowed only in vehicles that conform to BS-4 emission norms. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said in a notification that the Ministry has recommended retrofitting of CNG and LPG kits on BS-6 petrol vehicles and replacement of diesel engines with CNG or LPG engines in case of BS6 vehicles below 3.5 tonnes. The instruction also prescribes the type approval requirement for retrofitting.

CNG is an environmentally friendly fuel

CNG is an environment-friendly fuel and claims to reduce emission levels of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, particulate matter and smoke compared to fossil fuels like petrol and diesel, the ministry said. Along with this, the ministry said that this advice has been prepared after consultation with the stakeholders.

Since a long time, the price of CNG in Gujarat has been increasing rapidly. So today there is good news for CNG vehicle drivers. Adani has reduced the price of CNG. A relaxation of Rs 3.48 has been given in the price of CNG gas per kg. After the price reduction, the new price of CNG gas is Rs 83.90 per kg.

CNG or auto LPG fossil fuel cheap

Apart from being a clean fuel solution compared to petrol or diesel, CNG or auto LPG is also much cheaper compared to fossil fuel alternatives.
