The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in the state of South Gujarat and North Gujarat as well as Saurashtra today. While on August 12, the Meteorological Department has given an indication that clouds may form in Banaskantha, Valsad and Daman in the state. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, 139 talukas of the state have received rain in the last 24 hours. In which the maximum rain has been received in Songarh, 2.5 inches, while Umarpada and Sagbara have received 2.5 inches of rain. Also Vyara, Bavla and Lakhpat have received 2 inches of rain each. A high-level meeting was held in Gandhinagar today to take a comprehensive review of the status of water bodies in the state in the wake of widespread monsoon rains. Necessary suggestions were made for the construction of small check dams in the areas where rain water flows to store water and to carry out the works of the irrigation scheme promptly. 75% of the season’s rainfall in Gujarat

The Agriculture Department has completed survey work in 8 districts regarding crop damage due to heavy rains in Gujarat. Operations are still going on in Kutch district. Crop damage occurred in 4000 villages of the state due to heavy rains. The assistance will be announced after the completion of the survey.
