BGMI ban in India reason : Even though PUBG Mobile has been banned in India, the name has been in the limelight till now. The rebranded version of PUBG Mobile BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) is now in the news. Crafton’s game has disappeared from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. According to reports, both the platforms have removed the game following the government order. Notably, the reason behind the rise of PUBG Mobile or BGMI is a murder mystery.
What was discussed in Parliament?
A few days ago a case came to light, in which it is being said that a 16-year-old boy killed his mother because of an ‘online game like PUBG’. The matter reached the Parliament regarding his mother preventing him from playing sports. Where the government said that the Ministry of Home Affairs is investigating it.
What did the government say?
Some banned apps have re-entered the Indian market with name changes, the government said. The Home Ministry is investigating it. Last week Rajya Sabha MP V Vijayasai Reddy scrutinized this. He asked if the IT ministry was taking any action against games like PUBG, which led to ‘some children committing crimes while they are being prevented from playing the game’.
Is the game banned?
Union Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar answered this question in the House. He said, ‘MeitY has gotten many reports and grumblings. It states which apps were blocked. She is returning in a new avatar. All these reports and complaints have been forwarded to MHA for investigation.
What does Crafton have to say?
Crafton’s spokesperson has also reacted to the matter. He has said that he is clarifying how BGMI has been removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. He will give more information after receiving the reply. Google also says it informed Crafton before removing the game.
