Somnath temple LIVE Darshan Today : Jyotirlingas are sacred temples of Lord Shiva; It is believed that Lord Shiva himself visited these places and hence they hold a special place in the hearts of devotees. India has 12 of them. Jyotirlinga means ‘pillar or pillar of light’. The ‘pillar’ symbol indicates that there is no beginning or end.
The holy month of Shravan has started from today amid the corona eclipse. Today is the eleventh day for devotees in Shiva temples across Gujarat. The biggest attraction in Gujarat is Somnath Mahadev, the first Jyotirlinga. At that time, long queues of devotees are seen in Somnath Mahadev temple to have darshan of Mahadev. Devotees had reached the temple premises to have darshan since early morning. The timings of Somnath temple have been changed for the pilgrims during Shravan month. Somnath Mahadev was beautified this evening. The devotees were blessed to see the Sringar decorated with Swalaksha Bilva and flowers.

Devotees flock to Bhavnath’s fair
Today is the last night of the fair in Bhavnath area in which thousands of people are gathering in bhajan mandals and bhajans, bhajans will be sung in which renowned artists will entertain bhajans.
Approximately 8 lakh people will sit on their respective places from noon to watch the Ravadi of the Nagasadhus. For approximately 8 to 10 hours, people will sit on one place and wait for this Ravadi. But it is delivered.
Devotees flocked to Shiva temples across the state
As it is Mahashivratri, the devotees have reached the temple since early morning to worship Lord Shiva. Also consuming Bhangrupi prasadi.
Triveni Sangam of Bhajan, Food and Bhakti is being seen in all Shivalayas on Mahashivratri. Thousands of devotees have thronged the Minikumbh fair in Junagadh. So a huge crowd of devotees is also seen in Somnath. Somnath premises has been resounding with the sound of bam bam bhole since morning.
Nine constructions of Somnath temple
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister of India, Iron Man, took a pledge to rebuild the temple on November 13, 1947. And because of this, the present Somnath temple was built for the seventh time on its original site. On May 11, 1951, the then first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad performed the ritual of glorifying the Jyotirlinga. On this occasion he said, “This temple of Somnath is a symbol of the victory of construction over destruction”. Mahadevji was honored with 101 cannons in honor of the new Samonath temple, the navy fired cannons from the ocean, numerous great brahmins chanted the Vedas. And again the golden history of Somnath Temple began. Today the entire management of the Somnath temple is done under the Shree Somnath Trust. Sardar Patel was the first chairman of this trust and former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel has also enjoyed this position.
Built in the Chalukya style, today’s “Kailash Mahameru Prasad Temple” showcases the art of the Sompura artisans of Gujarat. The original Somnath temple was of the Trikootachal type. In the history of the last 800 years, there has never been a construction like the present Somnath temple. According to a Sanskrit inscription found on the sea shore, between the Somnath temple and the South Pole of the Earth, i.e. up to Antarctica, there is only sea and no land.
